SKIATHOS
The pine forests meet
the sea with its crystal waters on this utterly green island. Over
70 bays and coves are found on this gem of an island. A Greek resort
combining great nightlife with quiet places to relax, and fantastic
bays for swimming.
SKOPELOS
Famous for its plum trees, the island's tree-covered hills slope down
to the many bays, covered with golden sands. Splendid beaches and
wildlife abound. Affected by the Minoan civilization, she offers many
archaeological sites, about 360 churches, monasteries, convents and
colorful folklore.
ALONISSOS
Well-known
refuge for the Mediterranean seal, this is a green and lush island
with a typical Sporades landscape of pines and fruit-trees ending
in white rocky beaches or golden sandy ones. Sights: Cave of the Cyclops.
Sporades Marine Park. Delicacies: fresh fish.
PERISTERA
An islet of secluded bays sheltered from the "meltemi" wind,
with sparkling white houses perched on the hilltops.
Sights: remains of a castle.
SKYROS
The largest of the Sporades islands, she has natural harbors and secluded
bays, pine and maquis forests, and white cubist houses with flat roofs
rising up the steep slopes of the ruins of an old Venetian caslte.
Skyros is famous for their carnival celebration with the goat dancers,
seeming to have originated from the ancient cult of Dionysios and
unique Skyrian ponies
KARYSTOS
Lying on a narrow strip of land at the foot of the high mountain
range, this beautiful town can easily be seen from the sea. Sights:
Remains of a Venetian castle, beaches.
